The traditional delivery of Easter eggs to employees, which takes place every year at SiDi, a technology institute in Campinas, gave rise to a social action aimed at this atypical moment of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As its employees are working on a home office basis, this year SiDi cannot carry out its Easter action. Instead, it decided to allocate the funds that would be spent on the purchase of chocolate eggs to institutions in Campinas that have been playing an important role in combating Covid-19.
The institutions benefiting from the donations are the Hospital da PUC-Campinas and the Hospital de Clínicas (HC) of Unicamp. Each will receive R $ 15 thousand from SiDi, which can be used to purchase materials and personal protective equipment (PPE), which need to be changed frequently.
“These institutions are doing a crucial job of preserving lives, in a critical pandemic scenario like the one we are experiencing,” says John Yi, SiDi’s superintendent.
